Melissa Blyth does. The owner and designer of the sustainable and fashionable bag line Green ONE Ventures is using her fashion sense for good. She’ll be giving back to both the community and the environment through her fundraiser Give a SHI®T.
Melissa and Kate McNair of LOHAS Communication Design interviewed residents of the downtown eastside to collect a series of thoughts, expressions, and artwork. Now the duo is printing the words and illustrations on sustainable t-shirts that will be available for purchase on Melissa’s web site www.greenoneventures.com for $34.95. A small price to pay for a cool shirt and a way to contribute to our city’s most vulnerable community!
“I want to transform the way people think,” says Melissa. “To stop the separation that has been established geographically and consciously among the people of the downtown eastside and to demonstrate that we aren’t so different no matter what community we live in.
The funds raised are going to the Transformational Venture Capital Fund, a resource created by The Business Collective- a group of forward-thinking entrepreneurs and business leaders. The Collective’s intention is to generate highly profitable ventures, which use the profits to create sustainable transformation and social impact within their communities.
Give a SHI®T is connecting local communities, while supporting sustainable business ventures and earth- friendly fashion.
So stop and think, Do You Give a SHI®T?
