Newswire: B.C.’s waste-line

Municipalities and businesses in B.C. disposed of 2.8 million
tonnes of waste in 2004. This was an increase of 5.7% over 2002,
higher than the national increase (+5.0%) over the same period. Of
this waste, about 1.0 million tonnes came from residential sources
with the remainder (1.8 million) disposed of by non-residential
