Jaded eye urged at green claims on consumer goods

— making false or misleading green marketing claims — is pervasive,
according to a consumer study released Monday that found 99% of more
than a thousand products from big box stores committed at least one of
the “Six Sins of Greenwashing.”
“Consumers are inundated with products that make green claims,” said
Scott McDougall, president of TerraChoice Environmental Marketing. “We
saw an awful lot of misleading claims in the marketplace.”
