Cool Vancouver Task Force

Scientists throughout the world are in agreement that the earth’s climate is warming and that the primary cause of that warming is human activity, particularly that which increases the presence and concentrations of gases in the atmosphere that are known as “greenhouse gases (GHG).” Furthermore, the impacts of climate change are expected to be significant.
The Cool Vancouver Task Force is a group of individuals from a wide range of stakeholder groups in the City of Vancouver and the region that City Council invited to participate in a series of meetings to provide advice and guidance on the development of the components of a climate change action plan for the City. The Community and Corporate Climate Change Action plans were developed through the work of the Task Force.
