Disaster looms for Adams River sockeye

The Adams River sockeye have started their annual migration so early this year that half the run will be wiped out, killing up to one million fish before they even reach the spawning beds.
This is a peak year for the Adams River run, when the fish are expected to return by the millions to spawn. The last peak-year run, in 2002, suffered only 10-per-cent mortality in the river.
