Building Bridges is a community engagement program that brings together youth and community leaders in a united effort to encourage people to reduce their greenhouse gases. High School and University-age youth first educate community leaders (teachers, politicians, sports personalities, business owners…) about the causes, impacts and solutions for climate change. Together they make presentations to colleagues of the community leader, and encourage them to make signed commitments to reduce their use of electricity or to drive their car less.
The enthusiasm of youth and the connections and influence of more senior people in the community combine to have a positive impact on our behaviour and encourages a wider audience to take action to begin to reduce our use of fossil fuels.
