Lara Van Loon makes a splash: MES grad is named Ottawa’s first “Riverkeeper”

Lara Van Loon, who earned a master’s degree in Environmental Studies at York University in 2000, was appointed January 13 as Ottawa’s first “Riverkeeper” – an expert who acts as a watchdog over the health and ecological integrity of a river system.
