A tiny platform high in the air may not seem like much of a home, but once it is covered with twigs and other nesting material, it is the perfect spot for the osprey to raise its young. The Leeds County Stewardship Council in the Thousand Islands region of Ontario is among those who know that simple wooden platforms are enough to encourage the birds to nest, and is working to provide these spots all over the area.
