Eat less blubber, researchers tell nursing moms

IQALUIT, Nunavut – Researchers working in the Arctic says nursing mothers and women who plan to get pregnant should reduce their consumption of blubber. Mercury and persistent organic pollutants tend to accumulate in the fatty tissue of marine mammals. In humans, those toxins can cause cancer and damage immune systems
