OTTAWA, Sept. 26 /CNW/ – The Government of Canada today launched the
second round of the $15 million Pilot Emissions Removals, Reductions and
Learnings (PERRL) initiative. Building on the great success of the first
auction round, PERRL is allocating $2.5 million for the second auction round
to encourage the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the area of
renewable energy. The Government of Canada is expecting to be in a position
to sign the first purchase agreements before the end of 2003.
