The exclusion of fish and wildlife regulations from key public review provisions of the Environmental Bill of Rights must end, according to a submission filed today with Environmental Commissioner of Ontario. The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, Ottawa Valley Chapter, filed the submission jointly with Earthroots, and with the assistance of Sierra Legal Defence Fund. The document asks Environment Minister Chris Stockwell to change a regulation made under the Environmental Bill of Rights (EBR), which excludes the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act (FWCA) from the "request for review" provisions of the EBR.
