The Deadly Purple

Vast fields of bright purple may be pleasing to the eye, but purple loosestrife is becoming the deadly scourge of wetlands in Canada and parts of the United States. The plant was introduced accidentally into Canada in the 1800s. Since that time, it has made its way quickly through marshes and wetlands, changing the landscape with a bright colour that is becoming deadly purple instead of pretty.
