WELLAND, ON, Nov. 1 /CNW/ – A major supplier of exotic birds was
sentenced Tuesday for her role in a scheme which saw thousands of birds
illegally imported into Canada and then illegally exported to the United
States. Johanne Flikkema, of Fenwick, Ontario was convicted by indictment in
the Ontario Court of Justice, Welland, Ontario on July 11, 2001.
