The goal of MAGS is to improve our understanding of the water and energy cycle of the Mackenzie River Basin in particular and of cold regions in general. One its major objectives is to develop coupled models of the atmospheric and hydrological processes of the Mackenzie River Basin that can be used to evaluate the impact of both human-induced climate change and natural climate variability on Canada's water resources.
