CaGBC Greater Toronto Chapter – Join the CaGBC on November 23, 2011 for an energizing evening of live music, local cuisine and networking with 350 industry professionals in support of the Greater Toronto Chapter’s continuing education and training programs.
The theme of the second annual Gala celebrates that a low carbon future is within reach and that the built environment will play an important role in helping us achieve this goal.
Keynote speaker Tom Rand, Senior Advisor, Cleantech, MaRS Discovery District, will demonstrate that with smart buildings it is easy and profitable to significantly reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and discuss how the building industry will play a key role in facilitating the much larger job of fostering a new, low-carbon society.
We are delighted to host this year’s Gala at the Royal Conservatory’s TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning (RCM). The RCM was designed by Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects (KPMB), an internationally recognized Canadian firm. The TELUS Centre is also the recipient of the AIA/CAE Educational Facility Design Award of Excellence and is featured in the July 2011 issue of Architectural Record.
It is also our pleasure to announce that SPONSORS and VIPS will be treated to a special tour of Koerner Hall, led by partner-in-charge of the design of the TELUS Centre, Marianne McKenna . Architectural critic Paul Goldberger praised McKenna’s work on the RCM in the New Yorker and in 2010 she was one of Canada’s TOP 100 Canada’s Most Powerful Women.
The annual Gala is an important part of the CaGBC Greater Toronto Chapter’s fundraising campaign. Proceeds raised from the gala go towards maintaining the Chapter’s numerous education and training programs and networking events.
