Join Cool Drinks on Wednesday November 28, where guests will explain how they have inspired action through the arts. Allow yourself to be inspired!

Jeff Whiting is an artist, author, social entrepreneur and environmental advocate and President and founder of Artists for Conservation – “How art is saving wildlife and wild places”. Jeff Whiting will talk about how a new international festival in Vancouver is helping to stop shark-finning and catalyzing a new project to preserve the Great Bear Rainforest.

Lex Alfred Hedley is an artist with over twenty years of experience of North American birds and landscapes. Lex is now completing a manuscript for his first book. Wider Symmetries – highlights an exquisite series of watercolour paintings and sketches of birds. He will read from his writings on the ebb and flow relationship between nature and self.

Sarah Van Borek is a filmmaker, musician, visual artist and educator dedicated to global citizenship through the arts. Her professional experience spans across Africa and North America, where she has often engaged communities and empowered youth to produce innovative media for tackling complex global issues. Sarah will be speaking on the “NATURAL CAPITAL” community mapping and storytelling project which is a partnership between the Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECUAD) and David Suzuki Foundation.

CoolDrinks is a casual monthly gathering to connect and inspire community members interested in taking action on climate change.
