This month’s Winter Games in Vancouver will mark the first time that an Olympic city will track energy use at its sports venues and facilities in real time, thanks to Pulse Energy’s Venue Energy Tracker. The project, announced on Friday by John Furlong, CEO of the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Bev Van Ruyven, CEO of BC Hydro, uses the Internet to display the energy usage and savings in several Olympic venues in Vancouver and Whistler.
The real time energy usage charts on the site are powered by Pulse energy management software and display real-time energy consumption, as well as the savings achieved through energy-efficiency programs and other sustainable practices implemented at the venues.
