There’s a very fast-moving world out there, with many automakers planning to bring electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles to market by 2012. What are provinces, states and cities doing to get ready – and is it enough?
Our special guest this month is Felix Kramer, the Californian entrepreneur and lifelong environmentalist who founded CalCars.org, which pioneered, popularized and led the charge for Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles. Their work resulted in a $10 billion commitment to PHEVs by President Obama.
To prepare for this webinar, or if you can’t attend, Felix recommends that we all take a look at:
1) Beyond Plug-Ins – a CalCars slide show (.pdf)
2) Listing and timetable of expected Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles from 16 auto companies
3) Listing and timetable of EVs already on the road or in the pipeline: 64 4-wheel EVs and PHEVs, 14 2/3 wheelers, and 15 buses or trucks.
4) Project Get Ready, information on what North American regions are doing to prepare for plug-ins.
The BC Sustainable Energy Association is pleased to invite you to attend our monthly Climate and Energy Solutions Webinars to expand upon important developments in the fields of sustainable energy and climate change. Log in via your computer’s web browser to see and hear the presentations.
