Know an amazing Canadian eco-woman? The Yves Rocher Foundation’s Women of the Earth Awards wants to hear from you. The foundation’s 5th annual awards search has started. The awards honour eco-citizen women who are often unknown but who fight daily to preserve the environment and help make the world a greener place. Through the foundation program, one goal is to inspire others to adopt and support similar actions. Information on cash awards and application form is available on the Yves Rocher Foundation site at www.yvesrocherpromo.ca/foundation.
The deadline to return application forms is Sept. 30, 2009 to Yves Rocher, Women of the Earth Awards, 2199 Fernand-Lafontaine Blvd., Longueuil, Quebec, J4G 2V7. The Yves Rocher Foundation created the awards in 2001 to recognize women who act on behalf of nature and humankind. The awards are distributed in 15 countries across Europe, North America and North Africa. To date, 200 women have been rewarded for their actions that protect the plant world in more than 50 countries world-wide.
