How can a Green Construction Site Coordinator help on a green building project?
A Green Construction Site Coordinator is a valuable addition to all green building projects as they ensure that the green site operations are managed safely and efficiently. They also train all trades as they arrive on site to ensure consistent communication of the green building project’s goals and requirements.
A two-day training program has been designed for participants to learn about green building basics for a site along with safety orientation.
Who is the program for?
Primarily: site superintendents, supervisors, project coordinators, site safety officers, and manager of trades. Possible others: organizations planning to expand their operations; owners of office buildings who are about to renovate for energy efficiency; individuals who seek to expand their careers in architectural and mechanical design firms, environmental consulting firms, and construction companies.
Date: Monday September 14 through Tuesday September15, 2009
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day
Location: Vancouver Regional Construction Association office at 3636 E. 4th Ave., Vancouver, BC
Course includes 6 training modules:
- Green Building Site Management & Operations
- Erosion & Sedimentation Control
- Green Building Material Choices
- Construction Indoor Air Quality Management
- Construction Waste Management
- Effective Delivery & Crew Talks
Each student will receive a Green Construction Reference Manual and a free copy of the Little Green Site Book – an onsite reference pocketbook.
Cost: $400 (Includes two-day training session, training manual, lunches and snacks)
Prerequisites:
A diploma from a trade or technical college, any post-secondary education or knowledge and experience in the construction industry are important. No experience or knowledge in the green building field is required or expected.
