The Food Security Network of Newfoundland & Labrador
(FSN) is a provincial, membership-based, non-profit
organization which began in 1998 in St. John’s,
NL. Our mission is to actively promote comprehensive,
community-based solutions to ensure access to adequate
and healthy food for all. We work to raise public
awareness about food security issues in this province,
and to bring these issues to the attention of various
decision-makers, communities, groups, and organizations.
Our members include individuals and organizations
throughout the province who are involved in; health
care, education, farming, community development,
family services, anti-poverty work, emergency food
aid, school nutrition programs, and environmental
protection.
