Dear Friend of Climate Action,
By now, if you’re a B.C. resident, you’ve
probably received your $100 Climate Action Dividend from the B.C.
government. Perhaps you’ve spent it or put it in the bank, but if you’re
still considering what to do with it, we’ve got some ideas that go beyond
the standard light bulb change.
Our Green Your Campbell Cash
(
www.greenyourcampbellcash.ca
) web site showcases nearly 70 collective climate
action projects taking place throughout BC to which you can pledge your
support and your Climate Action Dividend.
Projects range from nature schools and solar BBQs, to rooftop gardens and
transportation innovations. So, if you’re looking for creative ways to
put your $100 to work for the environment, come take a look. You can
browse
(
http://contest.thetyee.ca/greenyourcampbellcash/projects
) the climate action projects, vote for your
favourites, and connect with project organizers directly to make a
donation.
You can also post your own project
(
http://contest.thetyee.ca/greenyourcampbellcash/submit-project
) or your personal commitment
(
http://contest.thetyee.ca/greenyourcampbellcash/post-commitment
) to Greening your Campbell Cash.
Vote for Cash Prizes!
And now we’re pleased to announce another reason to get involved in
Greening Your Campbell Cash. We’ve got cash prizes for the five projects
that receive the most votes.
Here’s how it works: we’ll take each project’s average rating and
multiply it by the total number of votes received to determine the top
five projects. At the end of the voting period, each of these winning
projects will receive a $500 cash prize.
If you’re a project organizer, now’s the time to mobilize your support
networks and ensure they vote for your project. If you’re a visitor to
the site, be sure to vote for your favourite projects and help them win a
cash prize.
Either way, we hope you’ll join in and Green Your Campbell Cash. And to
everyone who has visited the site, posted a project or a personal
commitment, voted for their favourite projects and encouraged their
friends to do the same, we thank you for your support.
Important Deadlines to Remember
