Water Connections is a project designed to realize the Centre for Sustainable Watersheds vision of a national water information resource that will facilitate cooperation and collaboration among Canada’s water community.
The mission of the Water Connections Project is to develop and implement a web-based water information portal that will provide users with immediate access to a nationwide collection of water data, resources, contacts and other pertinent information.
The Water Connections Project is a web-based water information portal. The primary function is to provide users with a single source for all their water information needs. After extensive research and thorough consultations with potential end-users, those essential information needs have been identified and includes the following:
- Local data required for managing water resources
- Information about organizations, experts and programs
- Best practices, tools, and guidelines
- Interpreted information – reports, analysis, research
- News and events.
