Yukon Equipment – Green Business Success Story

For more than fifty years, Yukon Equipment has been selling and leasing construction equipment in Alaska. The company also has been implementing an array of waste reduction activities, including recycling, reusing, purchasing environmentally preferable products, reducing toxics, and decreasing energy use. When Yukon first joined Green Star, it was able to boast that it reused100% of all packaging material and boxes, and recycled 85-90% of all paper and 80% of scrap metal and aluminum. Today Yukon continues to maintain a strong recycling and reuse program by recycling 100% of its waste cardboard and office paper (75 pounds last year), aluminum cans, and phone books.
