Citizens, land owners, planners, and conservation organizations in the Thousand Islands region have a new resource to work with: The Thousand Islands Ecosystem Community Atlas. The atlas will be released at the annual general meeting of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere this Saturday January 29th at the Elgin municipal complex in Elgin, Ontario.
"The Thousand Islands region draws many benefits from its natural ecosystem" says Jean Langlois, co-chair of the Thousand Islands Ecosystem Community Atlas project and a regional executive director with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS). He adds: "But what will the region look like a few generations from now?
