Poll finds minister out of touch on parks

Polling results released January 16, 2003 by CPAWS-Wildlands League show that people want
parks that protect wildlife and habitat not the motorized recreation and commercial
development emphasized in the new Recreation Reserves proposed by Natural
Resources Minister Jerry Ouellette. The poll conducted in early December 2002
found much stronger support for using parks to protect wildlife and habitat, uses not
included in Minister Ouellette's proposed new Recreation Reserve legislation.
