$10.4 Million for New Clean Energy School Buses

The Province will provide $10.4 million in funding to enable school districts around the province to purchase 86 new clean-diesel school buses, Education Minister Shirley Bond announced today.

“This funding will enable school districts to buy new clean-technology buses that will help improve air quality and protect the health of our students,” said Bond. “This investment supports one of our government’s key priorities, to lead the world in sustainable environmental management.” (read more…)

Apply to Host the 11th National Sustainable Campuses Conference
Every year the Sierra Youth Coalition (SYC) hosts the National Sustainable Campuses Conference in a different region. Since 1999, SYC has held the National Sustainable Campuses Conference in various regions of Canada. This year, the conference is scheduled to take place in the Prairies. The conference provides training to students to enhance their capacities to lead successful sustainability initiatives on their respective campuses, and provides networking opportunities at the regional and national levels to enhance the campus sustainability movement in Canada. (read more…)
