RiverSides is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating RiverSafe communities. We protect rivers by reducing runoff pollution from individual properties through education and providing the tools people need to make the connection between personal action and healthy rivers.
Our committment to water protection began in 1995 leading to our establishment as RiverSides in 1998. Through the years, we have developed strong relationships with partners, communities, and municipalities across North America implementing RiverSides’ programs.
RiverSides’ activities are divided into two themes:
* Creating RiverSafe Communities
* Fostering Urban Watershed Leadership
Our programs are based on the Five Things You Can Do For Your River framework:
* Stop Runoff
* Go Toxic-Free
* Naturalize
* Conserve Water
* Get Involved
Our innovative thinking and commitment to reducing non-point source pollution in rivers and lakes has shaped our reputation as a leader in water protection.
