Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition (OHCC)

The Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition (OHCC) seeks to achieve social, environmental, and economic health and well-being for individuals, communities and local governments.

We bring together a broad-based group of community and provincial associations, spanning the social, environmental, economic, and political spectrums. OHCC members share a common goal of creating healthier communities, and they actively support the Healthy Communities network by sharing their knowledge, skills and experiences with others.

The OHCC is funded
by the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion as a Health Promotion Resource Centre
to provide bilingual services and educational resources to communities that are
pursuing local healthy communities goals. Services are provided to community organizations
through regional Community
Animators and Affiliated Consultants
. OHCC:

  • Supports Healthy Community initiatives
    through training services (workshops
    and webinars), information, networking and partnership
    building
  • Connects
    groups and individuals to exchange information and provide mutual support
  • Maintains a Healthy Communities resource library
    and produces several educational publications
  • Distributes a monthly e-bulletin
  • Publishes the Healthy
    Communities
    newsletter

3. Community Food Security
4. Inclusive Community Organizations
5. Strategies for Effective Proposal Writing
6. Strategic Planning for Healthy Communities
