Recognition Three children from across Canada, including Montana Wright, 9, from North Saanich, B.C., were recognized this week for their positive contributions to the environment as national winners of the Sunlight Eco-Action Kids Awards.
Other winners included Manuel Tremblay, 7, from St-Honoré-de-Chicoutimi, Que., and Anna Talman, 10, from Edmonton.
“I’m so excited to be a winner of the Sunlight Eco-Action Kids Awards and couldn’t wait to tell my class,” said Wright. “I know that composting and participating in the Green Team at school would help the environment, and it’s easy to do.”
Each winner will receive a $1,000 cash award along with $1,000 to be donated to an organization of their choice.
