Students Catch On Quickly to GIS Computerized Mapping

In September, the NPC supported the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) in hosting a series of GIS workshops in Cambridge Bay. The sessions were designed to introduce high school students and teachers to the capabilities of geographic information systems (GIS). The workshops, part of the Fraser Lectureship in Northern Studies, were delivered by Al Friesen, a teacher from Neelin High School in Brandon, Manitoba.
