Need European-style climate-change strategy to get NDP support in House.
If Prime Minister Stephen Harper wants the NDP to keep him in power, his government must adopt a strong climate-change plan similar to one proposed yesterday by the European Union.
The European plan, which calls for steep cuts in greenhouse-gas emissions, with measures to cut energy consumption and promote non-polluting sources, “is definitely pushing in the right direction,” NDP environment critic Nathan Cullen said yesterday in an interview from Vancouver.
