Toronto – Earth Day Canada, in partnership with Mill Street Brewery and the RBC Foundation, is looking for Canada’s 2013 Hometown Heroes.
The Hometown Heroes Award Program recognizes and celebrates environmental leaders, groups and small businesses for their extraordinary efforts in creating greener communities across Canada.
Candidates can win the following awards:
- Individual Hometown Heroes Award — a $10,000 cash prize to donate to a local environmental group/cause of their choice.
- Group Hometown Heroes Award — a $10,000 cash prize to support their work.
- Small Business Hometown Heroes Award — a $5,000 cash prize that must be used by the business to make an operational change that lessens their environmental impact.
Visit Earth Day’s website to nominate yourself, a friend, a group or small business from your community.
The nomination deadline is April 1, 2013.
