Canada optimistic that deer disease didn’t spread

WINNIPEG – Wildlife officials in the Canadian Prairie province of Saskatchewan said yesterday they were guardedly optimistic after no new cases of chronic wasting disease, a fatal neurological disorder similar to mad cow disease, were discovered in wild deer and elk.
