Newfoundland and Labrador
‘s 16th Green Team Summer program
completed 25 projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, ranging
from stream restoration and wetland conservation, trail development,
marine species research, and the creation of community gardens.

IDEAS.
As part of Clean Nova
Scotia
‘s Kick Butt Campaign, a message that read Cigarette Butts
Are Litter Too! was displayed on Citadel Hill … Clean Nova Scotia is
seeking people for a temporary project involving the installation of
energy efficient lighting around Nova Scotia.

The World Record Walk Guinness Certificate
is on display at the Guinness World of Records

, in Niagara Falls, with a collection of newspaper

China
after the Olympics: Lessons from Beijing
, a Greenpeace report,
looks at China’s green policies and Beijing’s increased use of
energy efficiency technologies and renewable energy leading up to
the Olympics.

The 13th
Canadian National Conference and 4th Policy Forum on Drinking

THE POWER OF
CONSERVATION.
Peaksaver,
an electricity demand reduction program that temporarily powers down
central air conditioning systems, was used twice in July in Ontario.
Peaksaver saved up to 40
megawatts
of demand on one day, equivalent to the peak
electricity requirements of about 10,000 homes.
