Major solvent spill taints St. Clair River

Sarnia, Ont. — About 150,000 litres of highly volatile chemical solvents leaked from an Imperial Oil plant into the St. Clair River south of Sarnia yesterday, prompting area municipalities to close their water intakes as a protective measure.
