Minister David Anderson elected President of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council

Nairobi, Kenya, February 5, 2001 ? The Honourable David Anderson, Canada's Environment Minister, has become the first Canadian ever elected as President of the Governing Council of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). He was elected for a two-year term at a meeting of some 80 environment Ministers from around the world currently underway at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
